# Share a mailbox with a teammate

# Share a mailbox with a teammate

Mailbox access is separate from roles. A role says what someone can do in the workspace. Mailbox access says which email accounts they can use.

1. Open **Workspace settings → Mailboxes & connections**.
2. On the mailbox, open **Who can use it**.
3. Choose **Share with a team member** and tick:

* **Send**: use this address for outreach and campaigns
* **Read conversations**: see replies to emails sent from it

The mailbox owner or an administrator can change access at any time. Access ends automatically when someone leaves the workspace.

SMTP mailboxes can be shared for sending only, because Reach-book.com can't read replies over SMTP.

Assigning a prospect to someone never gives them access to a mailbox. The prospect's owner sends; the assignee follows up.
